File Sharing - ISO file format - SmartTV

I see ISO is not a “supported” format, in the online manual…

Currently i use my TV / dlna device manager (ie Smart TV’s, Smart DVD Players, Patriot boxes etc) to play back video .iso files from both USB drives and from my network share.

Will i not be able to if i get all my .iso movie files onto the EX4 ?  My full intent - store all my videos on the large storage EX4 for use by my home TV’s etc.

ISO is not supported for DLNA purposes only.

I’d be curious how, since no DLNA server I’ve ever seen supports ISO playback.

But anyway, if you can access the EX4 via a typical network share, ISOs will work just fine from the EX4’s point of view.

also it is possible to mount ISO image as a share (in UI, Settings pane).  than your smartTV should see contents of the ISO file. not sure if it helps for DLNA access but in case your TV can play DVD copies as folders it may help
