Fed up! what is the best HD media box?

i was bought the 2TB elements play media box gen1. for standard resolution movies and dvd rips it is fine. however for playing HD moveis it is terrible and i have had nothing but issues. (no sound on mkv, video sticking, poor quality etc) so im selling it on and buying a new one. 

what is the BEST HD media player on the market?  that can play every common media file type and that has no issues with playing high quality HD movie files that are MPEG, MKV etc with 24fps. ideally 2TB + as i have a large movie collection

Based in my experience I can tell you that at least from WD its best player is the WD TV Live Hub, cannot tell you from other brands since I have not tried them.

the 1TB hard drive isnt big enough, is there another that anyone could recomend ?
