exFat file system support?

Does WD have any intention to release firmware for the MyCloud Mirror with support for exFat File System?

I Just bought a WD MyCloud Mirror 8TB and also a Passport 4 TB external drive.
I was quite surprised when trying to make an USB copy from the Passport to the MyCloud Mirror.

The MyCloud Mirror does not support exFat file system, and cannot back it up!
I believe the WD Passport came formatted as exFat!

Now i am quite stuck with a lot of data on an external device that i cannot backup!!
The only solution for me right now is to buy a third 4TB disk that i format as Fat32, an copy all the files to that disk!
Not very well thought out from WD, and very disappointing!

Yeah well - its kind of dissapointing to find out after i bought and installed the product - and i do not understand why some of your devices support it and some not - its only a matter of a small licencing fee for Microsoft - so the least you could do, is to offer an option in firmware in the future…

Exactly in your situation. Cannot backup my nas, this really â– â– â– â– â–  ! I really regret not having buyed a Qnap or Synology unit.
If WD doen’t come out asap with a firmware update for that, this will my last WD Nas.
Really disappointing.

Same situation. I bought a 6GB my cloud and before purchase I compared “my cloud” and “my cloud home”; no difference listed in terms of file systems supported. After purchase I found out that exFAT is not supported.

here is a link (file systems supported by “my cloud”)

I could have bought my cloud home version if comparison chart showed this information;

Come on WD - make that exFat support available - how difficult can it be?
