Ex4100: making 3 disks beeing Raid5 + disk4 beeing an extra volume

Hello,
I have an EX4100 (OS5) and I would like to configure it like this:
3 disks (1-3) should be a Raid5 volume. The remaining disk should remain untouched I I would like to use it as a backup storage for the Raid volume.

By now, I was not able to do so: I can configure the volume using all 4 disks or using raid + spare. In the later case the raid contains only disk 1-3 but I can’t find disk4 to make it a seperate backup volume.

I also tried to configure taking all 4 disks, reduce the capacity an making the remaining space another volume. But in this case I’m not shure that the extra volume is just the 4th disk.

Can anybody tell me, where I made the mistake… or is it not possible to do, what I’m trying to do?

you can have almost the same if you use the USB-3 port to attach an external disk drive or two.
The USB drive will show up online can can be a extra disk or a backup disk.

Then you can have at least one disk unit that doesn’t wake up once an hour
and can use other than a RED disk drive.
