EX2 Ultra - no recycle bin

Hi,

I am new user to EX2 ultra.

When setting up the system (RAID1) I have noticed that no matter what I do, recycle bin switch does nothing in my case (so that recycle bin is not been created/not visible in the win file explorer as a folder) to the given share. When deleting the file win is asking if I want to permanently delete the file.

NAS on latest firmware/ rebooted/ restored (sys only)/ win environment. Only one user. Share is public.

I must say that without this function NAS is useless for me (and BTW I was so surprised to see that default value for recycle bin option is off - why is that so???)

Many thx for any help…

OK, I think I got (some) answer - am I correct that the recycle bin is setup in a bit unique way here?

There is “system” folder/share that you need to map separately as you would like to map any network drive (in my case it looks something like: \NAS local network IP\Recycle Bin - Volume_1)

Then you decide which of your shares individually (including the Public one) should be “attached” to that system recycle bin share and so you mark any particular share as recycle bin eligible (active). Consequently anything you delete from that share that is recycle been active will land in this system created recycle bin bucked/share. And so if you want to access any deleted file you need to go to that Recycle Bin - Volume_1.

Am I correct?

Yes
