Error in RAID Configuration

I have several My Book Duos. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 16-inch with M5 Pro chip which has macOS 26.4.

I have several My Book Duos and on this new Mac each one gives me a message:

Error in RAID Configuration

Your device My Book Duo (S/N:

XXXXXXXXXXXX) has RAID configuration issues.

Please launch the WD Drive Utilities software to get more information.

WD Drive Utilities gives the drives a total thumbs up with “Run Drive Status Check” and “Run Quick Drive Test”. “Complete Drive Test” won’t go past 10% but that it has never done that.

This message comes when I have disconnected the hard drive.

As suggested elsewhere on the ‘net I have completely removed and reinstalled WD Discovery and WD Utilities, WD Security and that Backup package which I never use.

I am wondering if it is a firmware issue. The “Firmware Revision” with the drives is: 1011.

I can’t see anyway to update the firmware on the Mac.

I think the data on the drives is fine although obviously it is backed up.

I wonder if anyone here has any suggestions?

The WD My Book Duo sometimes shows an “Error in RAID Configuration” message on newer systems like the MacBook Pro 16-inch (M5 Pro) running macOS 26.4 even when the drives are working normally. In many cases, this warning is caused by a compatibility issue between WD Drive Utilities or WD Discovery and the latest version of macOS rather than an actual RAID failure. If the Drive Status Check and Quick Drive Test both pass and the data remains accessible, the RAID array is most likely healthy. Firmware updates for these enclosures are typically released only for Microsoft Windows, so they usually cannot be applied directly from a Mac. Since the diagnostics report that the drives are healthy and the warning can appear even when the drive is disconnected, it is most likely a software reporting issue rather than a hardware problem, and the data should remain safe as long as regular backups are maintained.
