Dvd navigation but for mkv's

It is possible now to choose a chapter inside of a mkv file but would it possible to use skip/replay buttons on the remote to navigate inside of an mkv file the same way it works now with dvd’s? Currently it switches to next/previous movie and I don’t like that.

Yes, that has been around for quite a long time, but it’s just a different way of doing it.

In MKVs, hit the MENU button (or is it OPTIONS?)  and select the CHAPTERS icon in the banner.   Pick the chapter you want and hit ENTER and it will jump to it (or very close to it, depending on how precise the MKV chapters are…)

yes I know about chapters menu and I don’t like it. WD improved this for dvd’s why not for mkv’s?

It’s been on the “ya we know about it, maybe in the future we’ll add it…” list since I asked about it on my Gen1.

I guess they’ve had bigger fish to fry in the meantime.

Well, my guess is that it’s one of those things that if they DID do that, there’d be a bunch of  “WHY’D THEY CHANGE THAT!   I used to be able to skip to the next video by pressing >>| , now it doesn’t work!!!  ” … kind of posts.

well additional Video Settings menu entry like - Use Chapter Navigation (on/off) would solve even this wouldn’t it

Well, yeah, and the three thousand OTHER menu items to contend with to make the other three-thousand preferences…
