Drives won’t sleep + high CPU & RAM (indexing is finished!)

Hi fellow OS5 users,

After about 35 days of constant noise in my dorm room 10TB data (mostly thousands of images as I’m a sports photographer…) finished indexing.
I though I’ll get a good sleep now, but I was wrong :expressionless:
It finished over 24h ago and there is still a high CPU and RAM activity, and the drives are working constantly (temperature is fine though). I disconnected all devices that access data and I tried a restart a couple hours ago.
Before enabling Cloud access (end of October) the drives went to sleep normally (except for the known wake up every hour flaw).

So how can I figure out what’s going on? Where can I see what the NAS is using the disks,… for?

I have a MyCloud EX4100 with 4x 6TB as RAID 5 (Firmware: 5.06.115).
Drive Sleep is turned on, I don’t use any Apps.

Let me know if you need any more information to give me some advice or things I could try.

Thanks!
Steffen (a sad customer from Germany)

@Steffen9119, the device wake up every hour issue is being worked on by the WD developers.

I suggest to check out the status update from the team here:

@jchen That’s not the issue I’m addressing.
My drives won’t sleep at all!

Prior to indexing they were able to sleep except for the known issue.

Btw I read every status update and pray every day for a new firmware update :sweat_smile:

Drives sleep now. But next issue:
