Disk utilities does not recognize my 5 wd hard drives and my old passport

I have 5 WD hard drives and an old passport from about 2018. I recently had a major motherboard failure that created problems for my hard drives. New motherboard installed but much of my data was corrupted. A professional repair tech ran a file recovery program on the drives. Not 100% successful. I am slowly trying to get the computer running again. Some of the data I lost is most likely on the passport. But file manager (windows 10/11) does not see the drive. Neither does disk management. WD tech support suggested 1. Download disk utilities 2. try to find a data recovery app that could find the passport even if file manager/disk management cannot see the drive.

First problem I encountered…I installed WD disk utilities and my mouse and keyboard stopped working and the computer screen went “nuts.” I could not even restart the computer until I closed the utilities program. Also the utilities app could not even see my 5 wd hard drives or passport. So much for the utilities app.

Any suggestions? Also can anyone recommend a file recovery program that might be able to find the passport?

I have exchanged about a half dozen emails with support. The support person tried to be helpful. No complaints from me. But he had no solution other than by a new drive.
I have already checked with a couple of the 3rd party data recovery companies. So far, I have been told that if Disk Mgmt cannot see the drive, then neither can their software. I do plan to keep looking. Perhaps I will find software that can detect the drive even IF it does not show up in disk mgmt. It is a slow process.
Thanks for your reply and suggestions

For the old passport hard drive, try using different USB ports and cables to connect. Ensure the connection is stable. Sometimes, issues with the USB port or cable can cause the hard drive not to be recognized.
Confirm whether WD disk utilities are compatible with your new motherboard and operating system. If not compatible, it may cause system abnormalities such as mouse and keyboard failure and screen display issues. You can check the official website of WD disk utilities for compatibility information or try downloading an updated version of the tool.
Try running WD disk utilities in safe mode to exclude interference from other software or drivers. In safe mode, the system only loads the most basic drivers and programs, reducing the possibility of problems.
