I’m getting a message that says "Warning: The volume is degraded. Remember to rebuild the RAID for data integrity. My WDMyCloudEX410 is my backup. I’m petrified to manually rebuild and find i’ve lost all the information (mainly photos, videos and music)… Can anyone advise? My checks of the disks have come back clear and I can currently still see everything online when I check, despite one of the two drives I have installed flashing red… Should I take it somewhere for a check or…?! HELP! No idea what I’m doing. Bought this after my laptop was stolen and I lost loads of baby photos, so i’m keen that the same doesn’t happen with this!!! Thankyou… Claire
I assume you are running RAID5 and one of the disk is prb degraded due to whatever reason. Rebuilding the existing RAID5 should not erase your data, and remember DO NOT choose to create a new RAID array on old drives which WILL wipe out your data. If you feel unsafe about it, copy the data to another storage as duplicate backup. You can also contact the WD support team directly for assistance if you are unsure what to do.
