Could Someone Give me Advice with My Cloud Home Remote Access Issue After Recent Firmware Update?

Hello there,

I have been facing with my My Cloud Home device. Ever since the most recent firmware update, I have been having trouble accessing my device remotely. Previously; everything was working flawlessly; and I could easily access my files from both my desktop and mobile devices while on the go.

Although; after the update; I am either getting a connection timeout or an error message that says; Unable to connect to device whenever I try to connect remotely.

The device is connected to my home network; and I can still access it locally without any problems.

I have already tried restarting both the My Cloud Home device and my router multiple times.

Remote access is enabled in the settings, and I have not changed anything related to the network configuration prior to this issue.

Also; I have gone through this post; http://community.wd.com/t/os3-my-cloud-wd-remote-access-no-longer-available-after-april-aws-devops/ which definitely helped me out a lot.

Has anyone else encountered this issue after the recent update? If so; I would greatly appreciate any advice or troubleshooting tips to get my remote access back up and running.

Thanks in advance for your help and assistance. :innocent:

What exact device do you have and what OS does it currently have?

If it’s on OS3, then the other post is very clear. It won’t work. WD terminated the service and the latest firmware removed the My Cloud component.

Certain models on OS3 can be upgraded to OS5.

If your model is supported, you can upgrade to OS5 and restore the remote access.
