i recently purchased a 4TB My Passport Wireless Pro to replace the My Passport Ultra that stopped working. i used the My Passport Ultra connected to a WD Media player to watch movies, play music and look at pictures that were on the My Passport Ultra. i am unable to get the My Passport Wireless Pro to read/connect to the WD Media player. my TV is a smart TV also. so i don’t know if there is another way to be able to watch movies, play music and look at pictures that are now on my 4TB My Passport Wireless Pro. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Connecting the My Passport Wireless Pro via USB (which i assume is what you were doing with My Passport Ultra since it’s not Wireless)
The My Passport Wireless Pro is factory pre-formatted in exFAT
The WD Media Player does not support exFAT. (it only supports NTFS, FAT32 & HFS)
You’ll also need to check what format your Smart TV Supports.

The other alternative is to connect the My Passport Wireless Pro to your network and Stream the content to your Smart TV or WD Media Player via Network Shares or Media Shares (UPnP).
To play media files from a wireless drive to TV, the drive’s wireless signal must be connected to router wi-fi signal as described in MPW user manual. TV can then detect MPW on Home network and files on it can be played via tv interface. The format of drive is not relevant in this case.
