Computer won't boot

My computer will not boot with my WD My Book external hard drive connected.
The computer runs fine when the external hard drive isn’t connected. Have checked the BIOS settings and all is well in that department. Please help…

I have exactly the same problem.
I have to wait until the boot is done before I connect the MY BOOK WDBBGB0080HBK-NA to my Dell PC.
Then it seems to work ok.

Can anyone provide a solution to this? I am having the same problem.

Same issue here - anyone ever find a solution? Can’t find an answer anywhere. It’s not my BIOS boot sequence settings.

If you’re comfortable opening your computer up, remove the side panel and make sure the components are properly seated in their respective sockets. That includes your RAM, graphics card, motherboard cables, and the CPU heatsink. Remove them completely, then plug them back in, ensuring they click in all the way. You might also try booting without certain hardware, like the graphics card or one of the RAM sticks, in case they’re faulty.

As @T0x1cMaN advised here:

It is likely to be a BIOS boot order problem
