Changing the default ssh port

Hi,

I’m planning on using my my book live to that I can ssh tunnel from work to it, then to other machines on my home network.  I’ve never tried this before, but googling has given me enough information to know how to try it.

I have 2 questions:

  1. would this over tax the mybook live box or upset it in some way?

  2. I mean to change the default ssh port ( google tells me I need to edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config), is this a bad idea?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
