I’m sorry if this has been already posted somewhere, couldn’t find it…
I have problem with upgrading this latest firmware. I did everything as required, but device doesn’t detect data on my USB.
I even try 3 different USB keys. Unfortunately I can’t log in to internet also.
What could be the problem here?

If it’s not detected, then you presumably have the wrong package. Did you download the files for a _ WDTV Live _, or for a _ WDTV Live Plus _? And which device are you trying to install on?
I have WD TV live and I downloaded this one:
What version is on it now? Might sounds stupid, but did you unpack the Zip file?
I have previous version 1.02.21 Yes I’ve unpacked zip file and put all 3 files on USB with nothing else on in but those files.
Try unplugging the WDTV from power and then plugging in the firmware usb drive (making sure that the 3 files are in the root of the drive). Now power on the WDTV and see what happens. An update icon should appear in the menu.
If that does not work then try the same with the other USB port.
If that does not work when try the following (remove the USB drive first):
reset via the side paperclip button
reset to factory defaults via the internal menu
unplug from power for some minutes (not seconds)
do all 3 one after the other.
Now try the upgrade.
You might wabt to check the wdtvlive.ver file and make sure the version listed in that file is really a later version than you have installed.
Make sure the USB stick is formatted FAT32.
Try putting a media file on there as well to see if the device is being detected at all or not.

This forum is like an accident and emergency department. You only see the people with problems. I am on the latest firmware without all these problems.

All went fine for me aswell, went from version 1.02.21 to latest version since it was released and all has been working fine, not even had to do a reset.
im glad that it went well for most folks, however, had i read this forum yesterday morning, i would have waited for the upgraded firmware.
I’ve just manage to solve the problem! I tried 3 steps richUK suggest, but I think the problem was my USb stick being formatted to FAT not FAT32.

the device tell me to update through the inernet so i upgrade it to the last version but i do not not like it at all and i wanna go back to version *.21 but i try everything possible reset by paperclip by software and still the device do not regonize the older software i do not know what to do
why i do not like it:
1- when i shut it down it is still working and i have automatic switch to run the powerd device so i can not return to the satalette receive i must do it manually
2-when fowrward and go to play back it gived me black screen and some time it hungs
3-most i can not roll back to downgrad
can anyone give me suggesion
Just edit .ver file and put that 1.03.50 save it and put tham on USB and you will be downgraded !
I dont suggest it upgrade to new one too i have lot of problems with latest firmware ! ! !
Just read support forum on firmware part for live !
Also if you wont to upgrade check is it your box live or live+ wrong firmware is broke your WD Box !
