Cannot get the firmware to load

I have follwoed the directions, but I do not get any icon for upgrading firmware. I have hte files extraced to a new USB stick and they are the only things on there and still nothing. And when i hit “check for new update,” I get " the device fails to check for new firwmare…"

I reformatted the stick wtih fat32, but still no-go.

where should I go frm here?

Which firmware are you using?

1.0x.xx_V is for the LIve

1.0x.xx_B is for the Live Plus

I also cannot load the FWto my WD Live  from a USB key.

My USB key is FAT32 format.  I am wanting to go from 1.04.10V to 1.03.49V

Any suggestions?

SOLVED! 

I was using the original version of the 1.03.49 FW.  You must use download the FW on this link:

I firgured it out. For some reason on Windows 7, it was just showing the three firmware file. I hooked up the sam SUB stick to my older windowsXP PC and it showed a folder and some other files,. I delted everything but thre three firmware file; set that back into my WD TV Lvie and the device recognized the upgrade.
