Can't open Word DOC from WD MY CLOUD

HI Folks…

so i have set up my on a 2TB My Cloud… she has populated the drive with a bunch of .doc and .xls fseriles.

so when when she uses the mapped network location both the .doc and xls open and can be modified.

but when she opens up the MyCloud program and tries to open a .doc it will not open… nothing…

but she can open a .xls and modify it through the MyCloud program.

she is running windows 7 and Microsoft office 2007.

Any ideas??

Have you tried copying the files on the computer with the software and then tried to open them?

Yes I am able to

  1. able to drag and drop onto my desktop and then open

  2. use the windows Exlporer to open them

i just cannot open the file from within the MYCLOUD app.

This is my mother-in-laws machine.

on my personal machine i can open these .doc and edit them and save them back on the MyCloud useing the MyCloud app.

Why can I NOT do this on my in-laws machine…  both running Windows7 and MS word 2007
