Can't do win10 System Image backup on my 3TB MyCloud

I have a 3T MyCloud on my network, it works fine for data storage/retreival, file history, network printer access, multiple machines. I had done a backup on this drive for this machine when it was win8.1. Everytime I try to run the win10 system image, I get the following error while scanning the EFI partion:
There was a failure in preparing the backup image of one of the volumes in the backup set. (0x807800C5)
The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.(0x80070021)
I deleted the old backup, same error.
It will run the back up to DVD, like I want to do that.

How can I get a System Image on my MyCloud?

The problem appears to be with your Windows 10 hard drive not with the My Cloud. See the following threads that may have some suggestions on how to proceed.

I was looking at using WD SmarteWare. I don’t see the option for a system backup. Is it possible? Is it possible with WD SmarteWare Pro?

With Smartware you can change the default setting by selecting “Switch to File Backup” which will allow you to choose the folders you want to backup. You may want to read the Smartware User Manual (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/UM/ENG/4779-705057.pdf) if you haven’t already.

Frankly though if you want a better backup option, including one that allows you to use a boot CD to recover you may want to look at third party software. EaseUS Todo Backup Free is one such program that is free, that will backup to an NAS drive like the My Cloud and has a boot CD (WinPE) option:

The issue with the WD SmartWare file backup is knowledge. I don’t know what would be equivalent to a system image or how to get a useable system from it as a “restore”.

I will have to look into the todo.
Thanks.

Thanks,
The todo-backup works smoothly.
