Cannot find device but can access the dashboard

My brand new WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra arrived today, but a weird thing happened.

OS: Win10 home 64-bit

  • I’m quite sure the light is stable blue

  • but nothing happened after I click the “get started” button on the page “mycloud.com/setup

  • I can find the WD device in my File Explorer

  • But when I double-click the device icon, a Chrome window popped up and went to the dashboard login page

  • I can see device status and change settings via the dashboard

  • but I cannot transfer any file to the NAS

  • I tried to re-install the setup software

  • but the software told me that no device found

  • I tried everything… 40 seconds reset, use another router, use another computer (win7 OS), direct connect the NAS to my computer…

  • But nothing change. yes, I can access the dashboard but cannot access the NAS.

Please please help if anyone have the same experience. Thanks very much! >_<

Hello,

As part of the initial setup, it’s always a good idea to update the firmware to the most current release, make sure your My Cloud has the latest firmware installed.

Also, verify if the network discovery options are turned on from your Windows 10 computer by going to “Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings”.

Then, try mapping the shared folders:

Thank for reply.

The first thing I did on the dashboard was the firmware update, and my network discovery options were on…

Maybe I should return it.
