Cannot connect to MyCloud

OI can’t connect to my MyCloud via any option - quick view, app, iPhone or iPad, etc. I have been able to in the past but a few days ago I was following WD advice or recreating a new safe point (as I have issues with this stopping working randomly). So the device started creating the safe point but then gave me an error when it appeared to be finished so I clicked on the option to recreate it (I think that’s what it said). I can hear the device working away since but I can’ access it. I’m reluctant to power off and on as the WD advice is to not do this when it’s working, etc. Obviously I don;t have a back-up as this has stopped working. Any advice? It’s been 2/3 days now. Thanks.

The safe point you are doing is it on a USB drive or another network drive? Also would like to know if you are able to go to the dashboard of the device.

Can you access the user interface (Dashboard) for the MyCloud, using a web browser?

Have you fixed the IP address for your mycloud?

I agree that you shouldn’t unplug the power when it’s running, but pressing the reset button should be okay (because it’s a soft reset, under control of the processor).
