“Public Profile is hidden”. . . .so I can’t directly send you a PM. . . .
. . . . .so I simply must ask. . . . .was the rescue firmware messed up. . .or something else fundamental? PM if you like.
I think that probably applies here.
I don’t pretend to know that much about Linux - - -but playing with the partition table sounds like something pretty major for a “minor monthly update”.
So did you recover the EX2 Ultra?
I would not be a darn bit surprised if the lack of internet connection is the source of the problem.
Only the smallest subset of people would put a network device like these MyCloud units on a network that prohibits internet access.
(I would be one such - - - -I don’t block the NAS from the WAN. . . I simply don’t have a WAN cable connected ) (And yes, that does mean I have to have my PC’s switch networks to use the NAS.)
And yet. . .in your previous post you are clearly reloading OS/5 software
So you ain’t done yet
Ahhh. . .critiquing OS/5 has become a hobby. I can respect that.
It’s been clear to me for awhile that the WD considers their NAS product line to be internet-connected devices. . . which to privacy nuts like you and I is complete anathema. (I mean. . .if we wanted all our stuff on the cloud. . .why not use dropbox?)
This update is looking more and more like a serious revision - - at least for the behind the scenes stuff. I really wonder to what end?
Pity. WD used to be a major brand. Now. . .if you start researching NAS products, WD barely gets mentioned. If I was going to spend money today (contemplating). . .I know where it would go.
