Bad Sectors on WD Blue Desktop PC

Hi,

I have WD Blue in my Desktop. Desktop was taking more time to startup. I run Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. It found Bad Sectors which is not repairable. In spite of Bad Sectors detection, Its working normally for last two months. I know it can stop working anytime. What should I do now? I am using Bit Defender Internet Security in my Desktop. Should I try to reinstall Windows? or what …? Please suggest me. Its out of warranty.

Regards

Sanjay

Hi Sanjay.WD.HD, welcome to the WD Community. Hard drives can still be used normally when some of the sectors fail, but if you see that the DLG tests failed or that SMART status is bad, then you need to backup your files and replace the hard drive.
