data was backed up to passport ultra. It’s there - I can view the files. Laptop caught a virus & had to be wiped, windows 10 reinstalled. Now I can’t get the “WD Backup” program to actually restore the files. Says there is no backup plan. When I try to set up a backup plan the program then wants to start a new backup. I don’t think that’s going to do my data any good on the passport.

Try accessing the backup manually. Go into the backup folder called “WDbackup.swstor”. It is located in the root of the drive. from there you can browse the backup folder and copy/pasted the backed up files back to your computer.
Need WD Backup to restore operation of the Passport in its hourly backups. Have just downloaded/installed the latest WD Backup, apparently to no effect. What now?
