Backup tab disabled in SmartWare

So, I bought the windows version by mistake, and had to reformat the drive for my Mac, because of this I lost all the start up files, so I’ve been downloading everything, but I’m not quite sure how to actually back up my computer now. I open SmartWare and it goes through and analyzes my computer, but only the setting tab works, backup and retrieve are disabled.

  1. Is this the correct app to use to back up my computer?
  2. Why is the backup tab disabled? Is there something I’m missing?

Whats the model number of your drive?>

Although the drive might be compatible with Mac it is possible that WD Smartware does not work with your drive on Mac.

Please share the model number in order to find out what the issue might be.
