I just installed a replacement MyBook Live 2TB and when I go into WDSmartWare, the BackUp tab is not enabled. I try to run the WD SmartWare Setup (x64).msi file to reinstall the softwrae but it crashes saying theer was an error. How the heck do I get SmartWare to work right? I’d really liek to uininstall everythign and start over but I cannot find a way to do that. The uninstall through Control Panel fails.
If you are not able to uninstall smartware the normal way, I think is better for you to contact tech support directly.
Why would you want smartware installed anyway? There are much better backup solutions out there Windows or Mac.
