Hi, I don’t know if this will work, but it might. Using wd2go you can map the my book live on the remote computer, and using a third party program that allows you to backup network locations, you should be able to backup the my book live, the transfer rate will depend on your network speed. Check the link below for the steps to setup wd2go.
You will have to modify it for the MyBook Live though, since it’s a bit different system. For instance, you won’t be needing Optware on the MyBook Live. With that web page as a start, I managed to get two MBLs in two different countries to copy local backups to the other NAS every night.
There’s no programming required, but I strongly suggest that you get comfortable with a command line Linux system before trying this, if you aren’t already.
