Any way to hide MS Word Temp files

When opening a word document it creates a temp version of the file with a new file name starting with ~$, this file disappears once the document is saved or word is closed.

On a normal windows drive these files are hidden from view but are visable on this NAS box, does anyone know if it possible to hide these temp files so they don’t show to users, I don’t think it is possible on a NAS, but thought I would ask

I have not seen a post detailing or hinting at the possibility of hiding Office temp files. I’m curious as well.

The style of TEMP files under windows is seen by Windows as a “hidden” attribute. Within Linux, this attribute doesn’t exist and therefore the files will be seen. Same as you would tick the box “show all files” in Windows.
