Should i wish to add a second MyCloud Home Drive to my network , would i link it to my existing one via USB or would it be a second stand alone device plugged into another etherenet port on my router ?

it would be a second stand alone device connected to your router.
it is also important to note that multiple device support for your my cloud home account is not currently supported. if you add another my cloud home you will need to create a new account using a different email address.
