I am trying to clone a 160Gb ide to a new WD Blue raid drive. I go all the way through the disk clone get to the “proceed” button (after about an hour of “processing”). Click the proceed and I get a display window saying processing.
The window disappears and I am sent back to the launch page, no reboot, no event in the event log. As if the whole hour process never existed.
I am exhausted 6 hours later, nothing. I used the same software on my laptop and new wd Scorpio drive, took forever but it worked.
I’ve never got involved with cloning or installed a new hd. From what I see cloning is more prone to problems than imaging. Would a complete disk image work for your needs? I’ve restored a few times for the backup image creatde with Acronis TI 2010. When I creat an image I always do it by booting from rescue disk.
