I’m trying to clone a WD 500G blue drive to a WD 500G black drive.
After the reboot the software says “preparing”, it then switches to “cloning”, after about 30 seconds the status window closes to the blue window, then it switches to a black window and the systems boots into windows.
The cloning process never happens.
I’m using the latest software from the WD website. I’m using a HP Intel i5 quad 3.2 processor with 8Gigs of ram. Running Windows 7pro 64bit.
How can I get this to work? My blue drive is running slow and tested as failing!
Secure Boot can be disabled in BIOS. Please contact the computer or motherboard manufacturers for instructions and documentation to see if this option can be disabled during the cloning process on the specific motherboard used on the computer.
Note:Once the cloning process is finished, re-enable the Secure Boot option in BIOS.
On Windows 8 and 8.1, Secure Boot can be disabled through Windows itself. For information about this, please view Disabling Secure Boot on Microsoft’s TechNet Library.
Lastly, if Secure Boot is not able to be disabled in BIOS, or through Windows, a second option is to use the Recovery Media option built into Acronis True Image WD Edition, under the Rescue Media Builder option. With the Recovery Media, a bootable media can be created. When the system tries to reboot as part of the cloning process, use the Bootable Flash Drive or CD to boot up the system. Once the system has finished restarting, the cloning process can be completed.
