8TB USB External drive temperature

I have several WD external USB drives attached to my PC. All show temperatures in the 30-40 C range except the 8TB unit. This is running from 47-52 C according to the software from Hard Disk Sentinal. Today at 12:26 PM when I turned the PC on, the drive’s temp was 29 C but climbed to 40 C in less than an hour then to 47 C by 4:00 PM. I have another 4TB WD unit on the same shelf and it never gets over 42 C.

Is the difference due to the increased capacity of the 8TB unit or should I be worried about something else? Both of the drives are used for backups only so it’s not like they are being accessed by any programs on a regular basis.

PC is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and both drives are using dedicated USB 3.0 ports.
