8tb G-Raid thunderbolt issues

My G-raid turns on and the fan spins, but if I connect to either of the two thunderbolt ports, the drives rarely spin up and mount. Conversely, if I connect to the standard usb-c port, they spin up and mount. This started happening after using the drives for over a year.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a fix?

I have seen similar issues in my shop. I suggest using some USB-C enclosures and migrate to those. New models that can be daisy chained are more popular.

I’m probably going to build a diy raid server eventually, but was hoping someone knew how to fix this issue.

Another weird aspect is that when I connect to the thunderbolt port, and I’ve got my monitor and another drive plugged in, I can access those, just not the WD drives.

I suggest using the LCD on one port and the G-RAID on the other.
