8tb easy store not mounting

my 9 month old or so 8tb easy store will not mount now that I’ve updated the western digital software, WD Discovery V.3.0.250. Before that update, the drive was fine and I could use it as a time machine backup for my Mac. The software update even corrupted a seagate drive I was using for an iTunes library and I can’t restore permissions to that drive no matter how I try. The 8tb WD drive is barely recognizable to my system, sometimes it mounts, sometimes it doesn’t, drive utility is useless, doesn’t matter what port I plug the drive into, it still will not mount. When I run first aid through disk utility it gives me an error: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.DiskManagement error 5.) Operation failed…
Any work around for this? Don’t want to lose all that data.

Have your tried to different USB Cable and tried to connect the drive with different MAC or PC?
