3TB WD30EURS hard Drive - excruciatingly slow transfer rate

Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this drive.  If so how fast are the transfer rates for you?  I bought this brand new to upgrade from my 1.5TB drive and presently trying to transfer my 80GB music media folder from the old drive to this one and it’s going at a snail’s pace of 1.60MB/Sec.  I’ve used HDTune to benchmark it and they have it rated at an average speed of .2MB/Sec.  I know this drive is slow…but not that slow.

Anyne have any tips or ideas as to what to do?

I used HDTune to benchmark and give me average speed 56Mb/s…

but when copy files about 10 GB or less… slow down speed of copy to 0 and then hanged… and i must reset system…

if you have any idea… tell me what to do!!! :confounded:

I’m with both of you.  Purchased a wd30eurx; installation went as normal then went to copy about 750GB files from a 1TB drive - 5 hours later the backup was still not complete. 

Diagnostics on the drive say that they’re going to take in excess of 6 hours …

Need some ideas here … //al
