3 different drives won't mount

I bought a 4TB usb G-tech drive back in August. It recently stopped mounting. It would turn on, the light would be on, but it wasn’t spinning. I took it in and they said it wouldn’t boot up and I would have to do data recovery. I bought a 2nd drive, same one, to replace it (they’re pretty cheap). This was also turned on, but did not spin. I thought maybe I’m just getting unlucky, so I ordered a replacement and sent the old back in. Same problem, turns on but won’t spin. I have tried everything I can think of. New cables, new power supplies, different computer, different usb-hubs. It will not work. I am on a 2018 Macbook pro, Catalina. Any help would be appreciated. I’m starting to think my first drive actually isn’t broken, I’m doing something wrong in my computer. In disk utility, when I click “show all devices” it doesn’t show up either, so I can’t force mount it.
