I have a Western Digital external hard drive WD20 EARX 2TB that is not detected by Windows XP anymore. Trouble started after we watched a movie on a laptop every thing was fine this day,we shut down the laptop the hdd was stil conected. The next morning the lap top didnt detected the hd anymore.
When I plug it in,the PC the hard drive does not show up on “My Computer” and dont show up on Disk Management.
The same thing happen on a different computer with windows 7 I even plug it in the TV.No detection.
Every software that i tried to recover data with can’t detect my external hard drive.
Then I looked in the computer management /device manager/Universal serial bus controlers and its marked with a yellow sign.I uninstall it and conect the HD again on the PC.The PC “found new Hardware AS2105”
“USB Mass Storage device”.
Under properties -device status.
Device type Universal serial Bus controllers.
Manufacturer Compatible USB storage device,
Location 0(AS2105)
Have also a message "This device cannot start(code10)
If i start the hd i can hear its working …the light is on.
With the USB device viewer i get this message.

I have on the hard drive all my pictures of my three kids from the day they where born…Ill put in on the HD that they will be save i have some backup but not for all…
Options that i still have:
I will try with a new USB cable…then i will try to outbox the drive and conect it on the motherboard like a second hard drive. But for this i need a USB/IDE/SATA adapter.
Any new idea? How to recover the data? The recover pros are not cheap…
The drive is still under warranty.
