Are you running a synchronisation program? WD Sync, for instance? To sync your SSD (on a PC, I assume?) to your MyCloud?

If so, and you have deleted files from one end (the MyCloud), the sync will delete the other end (the PC). That’s what a sync program does; sync is NOT backup.

There may be a ‘deleted items’ folder associated with the sync program, that you may be able to recover your documents from. Read the user manual for the sync program for details.

Since the files have been deleted from your PC, you should be able to use any available file recovery software. But, whatever you do, stop writing stuff to your SSD, and run the recovery program ASAP.

Why did you reformat the My Cloud hard drive?

Do a forum search for recovery and you’ll find several past discussions on attempting recovery on the My Cloud hard drive. Generally however the longer you use the My Cloud before running a recovery program on the drive the harder it is to recover any data. Often one has very mixed results recovering any data from a formatted hard drive using consumer grade recovery software.
