What happens with previously deleted files?

Hi,

I own a My Passport for Mac (+ WD SmartWare).

When I do a recovery, what happens to previously deleted files? (I don’t want them and would not like to search all my files to re-delete them). Are they copied back to my hard drive?

In the Windows version of WD SmartWare, I think there’s an option to hide / show deleted files (according to the manual).
