Hello. I am thinking about purchasing an 4 or 8 tb ex2 ultra using 40% coupon code from WD. Issue is I can not find out what drive models are being supplied in the stock devices, specifically Red or Red Plus. (smr vs cmr)
Also a general question for the community. I hear bad things about using smr drives in raid arrays. If WD supplies only smr drives in their ex2 is it worth buying the populated ex2 to save 40% or should I go diskless and add non smr drives (Red Plus or Red Pro), which will end up costing me twice as much?

I recieved 4tb ex2 ultra from WD.
The disks are model WDC WD20EFAX-68B2RN1, which are SMR
