Hi folks,
I know that AVI files are containers which can have multiple codecs in them. I’ve had a number of AVI files on a hard drive that over the years have played just fine on the WDTV. Now, for some reason, some of them won’t play anymore. Others do.
To my knowledge, the files were not changed. And it’s been ages (easily 2 years or more) since the WDTV was on a network and could do firmware updates.
A device restart didn’t do the trick.
If I’m going to convert the files to another AVI file, how do I ensure that they are written with a codec that the WDTV has installed?
Can I add codecs to the WDTV?
Ideas, etc., most welcome.
Thanks!
