Bought a WD8004FRYZ for work last year, it sat in the bag for a few months, then when we opened it the connectors are smashed in transport. Too late to return.
I guess we have to replace the entire board? Does anyone know if buying a drive of the same type (which is malfunctioning elsewhere than the electronics) and swapping the board will work? Or what exactly do I have to match (firmware version etc.)? Can I extend to the entire Gold range irrespective of capacity?
Any ideas besides looking for broken drives on ebay?
