WD20EZRX SMART Error

Hi guys,

I bought this hard drive very recently (last weekend), and am getting a SMART Error on it when I try to boot with it connected via SATA.

I tried to do a low-level format after this happened, but the program was just producing errors when trying to format (I stopped the program from formatting after it had passed 1.25 trillion errors). I also tried to zero fill it, but it refused that as well.

So my question is: Is it worth carrying on trying to fix it, or should I just take it back to the shop I got it from for a replacement?

Thanks,

JD

Hi when you get a new drive that is running errors you do not try and fix it, you do as you said take it back for a replacement.
