2021-12-07T00:00:00Z → [date=2022-01-31 timezone=“Europe/London”]I have a My Cloud EX2 Ultra with 2x 10TB drives. These are both WD100EFAX-68LHPN0. One has failed. Replacements appear to be impossible to find and not available from WD Store. Anybody know of viable & available alternatives? I guess they are SATA but I don’t know which version. Would it matter to use, say, a Seagate or other brand? What spec would I have to look for - 7200rpm, and ??? I have no idea whether they would fit on the PCB and work properly. Any insights anyone? Otherwise my options appear to be: a) work with one 10TB drive, b) scrap (!).
That drive is a 5400rpm drive so it would be best to try to get a WD Red drive with a similar speed. All 10TB WD RED drives are CMR so you have no worries there and they are freely available still in the US. Don’t know about the UK, though.
