Hi,
I’m in the process of converting all of my DVD’s to ISO files for playback on TV via a WD TV Live box (as smart TVs are not smart enough to recognise ISO files).
I have just upgraded the firmware on 1 box to 1.06.43.
Does anyone know the maximum size portable hard disk drive that it will accept? It won’t accept 4tb.
Cheers, Steve
It’s been years since i used a WD TV media player … but, back in those days i remember using a 4TB External USB HDD without any issues.
But, it was MBR and not GPT (GUID Partition Table) and from memory the old WD TV didn’t support GPT, only MBR
MBR has a 2TB Max Partition Size
But, you might be able to convert the 4K Advanced Format to 512 Byte Sectors using WD Quick Formatter enabling MBR on a 4TB drive.
Select the “XP Compatible” option.
