Have not been able to update firmware or software (says update available) on my Windows 8 desktop. Currently at 1.3 and would like to install v2.0. Anyone have any luck with 64-bit OS?

I recommend that you uninstall WD Smartware, restart your computer and try a clean install of the latest version,. ( VER. 2.1.0)

When I went to uninstall I noticed that I had 2 versions of the software. Having uninstalled the older one, I rebooted and then opened the other one. It worked perfectly. I can’t see an ‘Accept as solution’ button, but it is good advice that worked for me.
