WD Quick Formatter and external enclosure in XP 32 bits

Does the WD Quick Formatter work on “not WD” external enclosures, or it only works for the WD line (essential, elements)?

Would the formatter allow a 3TB inside an usb enclosure to be seen at full capacity in Windows XP 32 bits?

Of course I’m only interested in using the drive as a storage drive, not a boot drive.

As far as I know it only works on WD hard drives.

One more question, do you know what’s the internal disk inside a WD 2TB Essential enclosure? I need to know if I can take it from the enclosure and direct connect it to an internal SATA port, and If i would need to run any tool to make it work (because of the advanced format).
