i have a 1tb elements drive which works perfect on my pc but doesnt read on any of my Samsung Tvs. HDD currently on NTFS format.

Some televisions can only read drives in FAT32 format. I would check the TV user manual or check online with the TV manufacturer to see what format the TV supports.

Hi.
Other HDDs work just fine. Just my new one doesnt. I have just tried
formatting to FAT32. Hopefully it works.

check the partition type … eg MBR or GPT as some tv’s are only compatible with MBR

How to check … (and compare with your ‘working’ hdd’s)

  1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, and select Disk Management
  2. On the left of the right lower pane,right-click on Disk 0 and select Properties.
  3. Select the Volumes tab.
  4. The Partition style: entry will show as either Master Boot Record (MBR) or GUID Partition Table (GPT)
