Hi Guys I have a 5tb WD passport and it simply won’t mount onto my Mac/ pc or MacBook, the cable is checked and working with an alternate drive, but the Wd passport doesn’t appear to mount

When you connect an external hard drive on Mac, it will show up on Desktop, Finder, and Disk Utility. But sometimes the external drive won’t appear on any of these places. To fix the issue, you can try the below methods:
- Change MacOS settings under Finder preferences
- Reset (NVRAM/PRAM/SMC) Mac firmware settings
- Fix external hard drive connectivity issue
- Mount or Repair the external hard drive using Disk Utility
