WD My Passport Freezes computer when plugged in

I have a WD My Passport that freezes my computer when plugged in but resumes all activity when I unplug it.
Eg. when i plug in the hard drive, i try to open my computer, nothing happens until i unplug the hard disk then my computer pops out. Anyone has any clue how to fix this ? i have a lot of important information in there

edit : i have tried multiple computers but its still the same result…

hmm the problems is everything freezes while the hard drive is plugged in. even when i try to open anything, it will not open until the hard drive is plugged out.
