WD My Passport 1TB does not show up in Window Explorer

Hello, I just bought a new WD My Passport 1TB from eBay and when I first plugged in the device, it worked properly with no problems. However, after I backup and put some file into the hard drive and disconnect the drive from my laptop, the next time I plugged in, the device didn’t show up in Window Explorer (My Computer) but WD Discovery recognized it as ‘READ ONLY’ and it still appeared in WD Drive Utilities.
So I had to format the hard drive in WD Drive Utilities (it failed several times) in order to get the device show up in Window Explorer.
But the same issue happened whenever I put files into it and disconnect it from my laptop, and reconnect it, it just wouldn’t show up. (I used safely remove hardware and eject media before I physically unplugged it)
I followed all the methods I’ve found online:

  1. change letter path

  2. uncheck ‘allow the computer to turn off this device to save power’ in Device Manager > USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)

I also ran Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics and the hard drive passed all two tests. And it can only be formatted in WD Drive Utilities (I formatted it in other WD programs but resulted in error)
The device works on my other laptop.

Anyone has any idea why this happen and how can I fix it?
Thank you.

Are you using the software that comes with the drive, because you wrote you tried changing drive letter, at first it sounded like a bad partition table but you also wrote it works on diff laptop, but just to make sure did you install any software from the WD and then change drive letter or format the drive or was the WD empty no software my WD looses the drive letter often simply because i have a ext ssd and the use the same drive letter so have to assign it each time i connect my wd i could ofc just use a diff drive letter but my wd is making sounds that sound like its rdy for the graveyard

Yeah I used the WD software came with the hard drive, but when I formatted the drive, all the software were also deleted, I don’t think it’s the issue with WD software.
My other laptop also using the same software, and also Win 10.
